Tortuguero National Park located in the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, and was open to protect the turtles. Tortuguero beach is one of the most important nesting site in the world.The green turtle nesting season is from July through October, you can also see turtle hatching from November through January. It’s the miracle of life. Tortuguero National Park is rich in wildlife, the park provides important habitat for jaguars, tapirs, green macaws, three species of monkeys, river turtles, iguanas and many plant species.Tortuguero is surrounded by rivers and canals, you can take a short boat tour to get close of nature.
Marino Ballena National Park, located just 16 km south of Dominical and contains the largest coral reef on the Pacific side of Central America. The Humpback Whales migrate here each year Cos (Dec. to April) to mate before returning to the frigid waters to the north.
The Irazú Volcano National Park is the highest active volcano in Costa Rica, located in Cartago Province. From the top it is possible to see the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and the elevation is 3,432 metres (11,260 ft) over the sea level, and the temperature oscillates between 3 and 17 °C (37 and 63 °F).
